Young County Buck cam pics

Postby jvt on 02:53 pm Oct 26 2009

From the last two or three weeks. Nothing special, but I think they are all over 13 inches. There were no pictures of smaller ones other than does.

Great pics, now get one of them. Looks like they are moving during the day.

It is a tripod rifle stand with the main feeder more than 100 yards away across a creek and gully. But I put a hanging feeder about 20 yards away near the stand just for bow season. But due to the way the stand is set up it can only be hunted with a crossbow. I have only been doing morning hunts on it and seeing nothing. What a surprise it was when I got home and all the pictures are late afternoon to early evening. I even have one of me leaving after my hunt, followed by a picture of a buck coming shortly after. I am kind of torn. I know there is better out there, but due to so much other hunting I am doing I will not be doing a lot of deer hunting this year, so I am not really in trophy hunting mode. I will just have to cross that bridge when I get to it I guess.

BTW, last year I was in trophy hunting mode and because I was holding out did not shoot a buck the last two seasons.
This is one I passed opening weekend year before last because I had seen one bigger during bow season. Never saw either again. I think.
So I am kinda ready to just have fun and shoot one, so it might be better to take a smaller one on purpose to let our bigger ones get even bigger.
We seem to have no shortage of smaller 8 points.

Try it sometime. All you have to do is put the camera in macro so it focuses on the image in the back of the scope. Then hold it a few inches away. With the rifle proped up or sandbaged so the target is in the crosshairs.
