What to do

Postby huntingwithsoldiers » 11:17 pm Nov 07 2010

Just got a call earlier from the Landowners Grandson whose land the Hunting with Soldiers program is using. He was going to come down the weekend before Thanksgiving but now has decided to come down next weekend along with 3 friends. I have to respect the landowner and his family but I have a Soldier fresh from Iraq and his Son that were scheduled to come here and hunt. Does anyone have anything open this coming weekend for this Soldier and his Son? I do not want to cancel their hunt but may have to re-route it. They are coming from Fort Hood. I am getting on the radio in Childress tomorrow and asking for other land since we do need other options anyway, but just in case I would like to find these 2 a place to go. I supply the place to stay when they are here but not sure what any of you can do. If you dont have some place to stay, let me know what hotels are around there and I will get on Hotels.com and try and find them a room and pay for it myself. We have 2 other places from other landowners but they pretty much only have mule deer and its not that season yet so we are in a bind.

Ready to have you. He do you have a popup blind. This new place doesnt have any stands and I am not sure if I can get one ready? If not we will figure something out but should be able to hunt the other places most of the time.

Just got thru riding around the 320 acres that was offered for the Soldiers and Disabled Vets. Its a great place. Need to get a feeder put up pretty quick but we jumped a few deer while out there.

Having fun is a given just being outdoors and enjoying nature is fun. Taking a nice Buck would just be a huge plus in my book.
