Took the Boss Hunting Today

Postby squidman » 07:45 pm Jan 01 2010

Took the Boss hunting today and he really liked it. Except the part where I carried his Weatherby 300 Magnum and he had to drag the deer back to camp.It was a sweet shot too. About 300 yds across a draw straight through the heart. It was actually funny how it happened. He was getting ready to sight in his 10-22 when I noticed two deer about 3/4 the way up the hill. I told him not to fire but slowly get up and look to my 12 O'clock about 3/4 the way up the hill. They were moving to the right so we went left and set up next to some scrub cedar with good back cover. we waited about 10 min. and we saw them. I didn't have a clear shot so I told him if he had a shot to take it. She dropped like a rock and didn't move. After we could hear again we went to get her. Man that Weatherby was LOUD!!! My ears are still ringing.

Pics to follow once he emails them to me.

Congrats on the deer! Did the 300 have a muzzlebrake on it?

Yes it did, but it should have had a sound suppressor along with the muzzel brake. My ears were ringing for 3 hours after that.
