tgt-

I would keep the hog call in your hunting pack. All the information I have found on hogs says that they do not work and will usually keep the hogs away from an area. Might work for you guys, but I would only use as a last option.

Just my opinion.

Mike,
Good info and Thanks!! I think Brad has the hogs in enough for me not to need the call but I will bring it.

Anything within 150 to 200 yards will be hit with a sub load out of a can 50 to 100 yards is best but??? and I will have you cough to cover up the sound of the shot!!!! less then 12 hours!!!!!!! THANKS BRAD!!!!!!!!

I have a spot on a telephone pole that is 160 yards from the corn with a place to rest a gun. We talk when they are at the corn all the time and they mind at all. I have a video of me standing about 50 yards from a big group and I am screaming as loud as I can and they didn't run off for a while. That big one with the tusks was there a little while ago. I put the scope on him, he was there for about 45 minutes. I put up a feeder and it is going off at midnight, 2 am and on other time, can't remember.

Looking forward to it.

YEAH!!!! texaslefty thinks he is getting that big one but we may have to talk about that!!!! Those times are perfect and I think we will hit town a few minutes earlier then we expected. I really hope we can be at your place at least 1 hour before the feeder goes off but we will have everything ready when we pull in.

Thanks

The feeder goes off twice after midnight, so no worries there. I drink either. I got some crown and some bud light.

I am sure some of ya'll are wondering what happened on our trip. The main purpose of this trip was to install a head gasket on helomechs daily driver. The hog hunt was a payment for this job even though I told him I would do it for free.

The trip was planed during dove season and I said when I have a free weekend I will be there well Pheasant, Duck and Goose hunting postponed it about a month but I finally got down there. The head gasket job was a success however the hogs were no where to be found accept for one on a game cam.

We did however take a cousin from montreal on his first hunting trip and I got to hear a subsonic load coming out of a can hit an animal. Even though it was only a rabbit it was still pretty neat to hear.

We all had a good time and I would like to thank helomech and his wife for going out of there way to make sure everyone was having fun.

Thanks man, I am just getting up. I slept all day yesterday after yall left, and all last night. I am about to go and check the cams and trap to see if there is anything. I think there is still lots of corn under the feeder by the motion light though.

Looking forward to having yall out again when we don't have to work on a car.

Helomech,

What texaslefty said +10000000, Had a great time and you guys are great. Im not sure what was better the bullet proof rabbit or the monkey running around but we had a GREAT time.

Txpapa,
The current load is a 150gr siera pro hunter running about 1035-1065. The silencer is a SAS .300 magnum can that I run on my .308 and I have to run the lighter bullets because of a short slow twisting barrel.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Glad yall had a good time, the hogs have still not been around. I haven't checked my cams in 2 days though. A friend needed me yesterday to do a contoled burn so I helped him. Then I got sick last night. Feel like crap right now.

Looking forward to having yall back when we don't have a car to fix.

Oh, yeah and a big thanks helping me with the car. I could not have done it myself. Thanks again Lefty.
