This guy comes around the platform quite often, but he goes under if he sees you. So it is hard to get a pic of him. I was up on the heli deck when I saw him so he did not see me. I got a few pics but I am about 140 feet above the water.

He is pretty big, I would guess 4 to 5 feet long.

They have been protected for years, I have a family member with a piar that he bought in the late 60's.

I know the oil companies spend loads of money doing turtle watches before any explosives can be set off under water. The helicopter has to circle the sight for miles to make sure their are no turtles with a person from the government on board.
