African animals in the House!!!!!

Postby mudslinger » 11:52 am Aug 10 2010

My animals i got in Africa in 08 were done so I drove to Snyder and picked them up. The Impala went up in front with me in the passenger seat and the Hartabeest, Wildebeest and Blesbock and 3 back hides all went in the back (crew cab). The Gemsbock and Eland went into the bed on top of foam and blankets and completely filled my bed of the truck even with an 8' bed and tool box! The Eland and Gemsbock are going on floor pedestals that I am going to build and the rest on the wall. Here are the pics, hope you enjoy!

Here are pics of the finished pedestals for the Eland (dark mahogany) and the Gemsbock (Ebony). Not fancy, but functional and a little too large for my taste, but this is what the wife wanted so this is what she got. They will stay like this as it matches the no finish look of the book case already in the room. Hope you like.

Here are the Eland and Gemsbock again with the pedestals I built, but with a satin coat of verathane per the wife's suggestion. Being the good husband I am and doing what she says, the verathane went on and it does make them pedestals look nice.
