Elk Antlers

Postby Big Tony » 10:49 pm Jan 02 2010

I just got home from a 1 week hunt at our ranch. The weather was CRAZY. Snow, sleet, rain and heat. My face is sun burned. LOL I aquired a set of Elk Antlers and put them on my "lodge pole" while I was there. Tell me what U think.

Not sheds. Look close at the base. The skull plate is there. I'm finally getting to go hunt these dudes this fall. Also I've been lucky enough to go on an Antelope trip as well. My wife and I are taking a 2 week trip this fall to Montana and Wyoming. We are pumped. I traded a knife to a Bud of mine for these horns. I was gonna make knife handles out of 'em but just couldn't bring myself to hack 'em up. Too beautiful. My hunting ranch is in far NW San Saba county near the Colorado River.

Sorry. I didn't see this untill now. I don't have any horn now, I'm completely out. I an getting ready to make a knife for a set of Axis Antlers (med - small) they're on a plaque now. when I get 'em I'll get a hold of ya and cut off what you need, if you still need 'em by then.
