Postby Mike on 03:08 pm Jan 16 2010

Lindsey and I are about to head to the lease for some late season doe and spike hunting.

Hopefully I will have some pics or video to post up late tonight or tomorrow.

She is doing good, just a foot surgery. They scrapped some bone away, and she has to keep her foot elevated for at least 3 days. So that means I have to wait on her, and the season ends tomorrow.

Thanks

If you can shoot the hog from the hot tub then I'm sure you can shoot thee deer from the house. That is if the deer are coming to the feeder that is 250 yds away.

At night they are, but not legal to shoot then. Besides they look real young.

Lindsey and I had no luck last night so we went back to the blind early this morning. We were in the blind and set up by 5:45. The feeder went off at 7:00 and about 7:15 three bucks walked up to the feeder. One of the bucks just happened to be the spike that I have seen on camera and was hoping would show. I let a 300wsm down range at him and he did not even take a step.

Lindsey and I debated if we should drag him away from the feeder and hope that a doe would show up or just leave him. After a few minutes of talking about it a doe walked up and then two more does walked in. Lindsey picked out the one she wanted and sent a 270win down range at her and for the second time this morning the deer fell right where she was standing.

It was a geat morning that could not have been any better. We were even able to make it home before the Cowboys game started.

Helomech
Yea they are young, hopefully in 2 or 3 yrs you will have plenty of mature bucks to choose from with nice mass and scoring in the 140's or higher. Hopefully the neighbors stay on the management process with you.

I think the one on the right might be 1.5, and the one on the left 2.5.
