Diseased Doe.

Postby slimpickins » 11:34 am Jan 04 2010

Last year my brother spoke of a diseased doe at his feeder/camera. This year she has shown up at mine.
He's confirmed that it is her, but last year the white was only on her nose, up to her eyes.
We've all decided she is culled, if anyone actually sees her through the scope.
I just hope that it is not contageous and spreads throughout our herd.
In all the pics her ears are laid back and that tells me she is not feeling well.
Hope to see her and put her out of her misery.
Ya'lls thoughts?

Looks like some type of injury to me. Look at her neck, almost like it got hung up in a fence or something.

That's what I thought at first, but he's shown me a great close up of her that he has.
It is actually white where the hair is missing and the skin is peeling.
The black, at the newest diseased part, is dark skin with no hair on it and it just hasn't started peeling yet.
It started on her muzzle and has just progressed up her entire face and starting down her neck.
Whatever it is it sure is nasty looking. barf.gif

Not sure exactly but her not having a yearling with her makes me feel a little better about culling her.
I just hope I ain't spreading throughout our herd. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some good closeup pictures and some skin cultures for the biologist.
