This year I have hunted in Anderson, Houston, Sherman, Moore, Tarrant, Collin, Hunt, Wilbarger, Wise, Bowie, Denton, Hardeman and Lubbock Counties. I have hunted WT, Turkey, Dove, Ducks, Geese, Pheasant and Hogs. I think my favorite animal to hunt currently are birds any type but I really hope I get a speckeled belly goose next year. I count hunting season from Jan 1 to Dec 31.That away when you are talking about hunting you do not have to say well last year, you can say; this year and the summer months are not so depressing. When the summer rolls around at least you can still hunt Hogs and the unlucky Varmints that happen to find there way to the end of my barrel.

I am hoping to go on a Goose hunt outside Archer city in Jan/Feb, dont worry if I shoot a speckeled belly I will post pics.

I'm thinking about putting up a feeder here on the home place. I shot and OLD Buck off my next door neighbors hay field, near the Creek. Our properties have a wet weather creek going across it that is the start of the Nolan River, which along with the Brazos, Feeds Lake Whitney. We have seen Turkey, but only 1 hen. She hung around for a couple of days. Should have put some feed out for her. But man, have we got the Dove. We have 'em at the ranch but kind of shy away from shooting them because Bow season comes at almost the same time. Besides, it's just so easy to walk about 50 yards out the back door and sit in a chair under the power lines that go over the creek. I have shot as much as 2 boxes of shells in an hour and a half. Now as far as How many Birds I shot, well thats another story. LOL

I hunt deer, hogs, and squirrel here in Houston County. I usually go somewhere else on a dove hunt every year, and am going out west on a spring turkey hunt this year. Never been before so I'm excited about that. During the summer I fish in the Neches River and camp w/the kiddos!!
