Youngest son got his first deer of the season.

Postby helomech » 08:43 pm Nov 19 2009

I had seen this deer on camera and wanted her taken out for two reasons, but I thought it was two different deer. Come to find out the same deer had two issues. The first was a picture I posted a while back of a deer with a leg injury, but when we shot her I didn't know this was the one with the leg injury. The reason we picked her was because of the large lump on her neck. So we go both of the deer we where after with one shot. We saw 4 does tonight, this was not the oldest one, but I felt it was the right one to take out. He shot her with a .243 at about 60 yards, and she went about 40 yards. Blood at the site he shot her at, but no other blood until where she fell. Unfortunately she was only 2.5.

Thanks Tom. Wish my oldest boy showed the interest my youngest does. I keep asking him if he wants to hunt, but so far he has said no this year.
