1st bowhunt story

Postby twice70 » 06:53 am Oct 04 2009

Ok....so I get off work about 4:30 yesterday, in my bow blind by about 5:00. It's been raining off and on since about 3:00. At a few minutes after 6:00 I have a big group of hogs come in, pick a good eating sized one, and smack it!! Looks like a great shot, get to my arrow and it's covered in blood. As soon as I start to follow the blood trail it starts POURING rain.....lose the blood trail after 50 yards or so, keep looking until after dark and get soaking wet but never found the hog. I hated to lose him, but hogs are a major pest on this place anyway so not as bad as losing a deer. It was awesome though seeing them that close, then trying to draw my bow and get positioned without spooking them. It's more of a challenge than I thought it would be, but I'm hooked!!! Can't wait to get back out there...

Cool Ryan, I don't even want to talk about my first time shooting a animal with a bow. Heck or the 2nd or 3rd time.
