What I have decided on for the Javelina Hunt contest, is a membership drive similar to the one that was held for the Spotting Scope.

Here are the rules for the contest:

1. Contest is open only to Active Members of this site that joined the site on or before June 1, 2009.

2. Active member status for this contest is defined as a member that has made an average of 2 posts per month during the time they have been a member, starting on the date they registered and became a member, up to June 1, 2009.

To be Eligible to enter the contest, a minimum of two posts will have to have been made between May 1, 2009 and June 1, 2009.

This contest is being put together for those folks who ACTIVELY support the site.

3. Contest will begin on August 1, 2009 and end on November 1, 2009.


That is 92 days for eligible members to recruit new members, and for those new members to register.

4. New members that register, have to make a post in the New Member topic area listing the name of the member that recruited them.

Contestants, make sure the new folks you recruit understand that they have to make a post in the New Member topic area naming who recruited them.

5. For a member to win, any new people they recruit must be registered and have the above information posted between August 1,2009 and Midnight October 31, 2009.

This is important also, these new members will have to be registered and have made the post naming the person that recruited them, by the above date for it to count.

A posting made with a date before August 1 or made on November 1 will not count toward the members recruitment numbers.

6. Winners name will be posted on November 15, 2009.

It may not seem "Fair" to some folks, but I don't like the idea of having anyone that may have made 1 or 2 posts in the past year or more, but are a member coming up and lucking into this prize.

I want this to go to one of the members that has been active on the site and has helped try to build it up.


What You Will Be Trying To Win.

The prize is a 3 night / 2 day Guided Javelina hunt for 1 person.

Meals/Lodging/Transportation on the ranch during the hunt with Predator and Jack Rabbit hunting included.

A hunting companion can be accommodated at a reduced rate(not yet established) for the hunt period.

A non-hunting companion/observer can be accommodated @ $100.00 for the hunt period.

Hunt will have to be scheduled between Februaruy and June of 2010.

Should the winner desire a second Javelina, the cost will be $100.00.

If the hunt is taken during Spring Turkey season, the hunter, if they choose to, can take a turkey for $200.00.

The winner needs to be aware that it is a long way to Pecos county/Fort Stockton from nearly anywhere in Texas.

What the winner will be responsible for, transportation to the ranch.

Hunting license.

Gratuities/Tips to guides/campstaff are welcome but are strictly up to the hunters discretion.

Okay, for 28 of you on this site, the Membership Drive contest for the Guided Javelina hunt will begin at midnight this Friday, I hope everyone is ready for the contest to start.

Just as a reminder, here is what you will be trying to win by getting the most new members to register.

The prize is a 3 night / 2 day Guided Javelina hunt for 1 person.

If this person desires to shoot a second Javelina, the charge is $100.00

Please note, for both the hunt winner and a hunting companion if one comes along, the prices quoted on the second Javelina and the Turkey are charged after the kill.

Also note, on all my hunts, Blood Drawn = Animal/Bird Killed.

I am going to post this on the other site as well.

There are several folks that are eligible to be in the contest on both sites.

It would probably be a good idea when recruiting folks, to get them to join Both sites, that way you get credit on both.

You might not win on one site but might on the other.

There will be one winner on each site, no single person will win on both sites.

By doing it this way, it creates interest in both sites, because each has its own merit.

I still have some tweaking to do before Midnight Friday so everyone needs to stay tuned for more details.

No, this isn't a lottery, whoever recruits the most new members during the listed time frame will be the winner.

All the new folks that have joined the past few days are doing it correctly and posting in the Newbie's topic area and listing who recruited them.
