First Spring Turkey Hunt

Postby Mike on 05:50 pm Mar 06 2008

I think that I am going to hunt my first turkey this spring and I was wondering if anyone could give me some good advice. Again this will be my first turkey hunt so I have no experience at all. My only experience has been watching guys on TV.

The only advice I have is good luck even though it looks like you will not need much judging by the pics.

Be still and quiet. They are weary little dudes.

Opening Day Turkey

Postby DTE on 07:14 am Apr 05 2009

Went hunting yesterday on my lease in Wise County. Using my box call I called for about 21/2 hours and didn't see or hear anything. Got in my truck and started back down the road towards the east side of my lease and about 200 yards in front of me two Tom's crossed the road. I parked my truck and walked up about 50 yards and starting calling the two Tom's worked there way towards me and in about 15 minutes I had my opening day Turkey!
