10 point crossbow kill (pics)

Postby Txpapa » 04:54 pm Oct 23 2011

Got this 10 point saturday evening. This is my 1st crossbow kill.
The bolt passed through him like a bolt of lightning (Muzzy) but my Luminox came off in the pass through. I found it in his chest.

Thanks y'all. Had my video camera with me but ran out of tape before I shot him. This buck jumped six foot straight up in the air when the bolt hit him. when he came down he landed on his chest with only his back legs working. He snow plowed for over five yards through cactus & mesquite brush before he got his front leg under him. He only made it about twenty five yards.

Great buck Kevin! Had him scored yet? That looks like a great buck considering it is a desert up here and has been for a while.

I did the old field score after 2 whiskey & cokes. " looks like 125 to me " But no I'll have to wait and get him back from the taxidermists. What is your guess???

Its VERY hard to score a deer from pics, I am not suprised with 125" though.

Kevin, I think that buck may push 130 gross and maybe over from the pics.
