"Hunt for Hogzilla" Contest and Events

Postby Maver!ck » 09:02 am Aug 11 2011

Texas Dog Hunters Association(TDHA) would like to invite you to attend and participate the upcoming hunt event being put on by Time Warner Cable Media.(TWCM)
TWCM is holding an event similar to that of our "Hunt for the Hungry" where we were able to donate over 30,000#s of meat to the needy this year. They are calling their contest - "Hunt for Hogzilla". There will also be a IBCA Sanctioned Cook-Off, family activities, and appearance by music artists/bands. TDHA will be assisting during the weigh-in process and will also have a booth setup during the course of the event. TDHA is proud to partner with Time Warner Cable Media in an event that feeds the hungry of our Great State of Texas!

If you don't have facebook, the general information about this event posted on their facebook page is as follows:

Founded - 2011

About - The Hunt for Hogzilla & Cook-off Feeding Local Charities in the Coastal Bend

Description - Feral hogs are an invasive species in Texas that cause over $400 million in damage to our state's agriculture, natural resources, private and public property annually. Managing this species is essentially the right and responsibility of the landowner. Landowners spend an estimated $7 million annually on control and corrective management efforts. However, in many cases, feral hogs exist in such n...umbers where management of damage cannot be conducted by individual landowners acting alone. Hunger is also a real threat in Texas where more children are food insecure than any other state. Food banks have a major role in managing this hunger gap. The state's large population of feral hogs could aid in tackling this growing hunger problem in Texas. See More

Mission - Join us for the First Annual Hunt for Hogzilla & Cook-Off event! Enjoy live entertainment, Hog Hunting, BBQ, and lots of activities for the kids.

The event is based in Robstown, but hunters are free to stalk their quarry anywhere in Texas. We will have prizes for heaviest boar and heaviest sow, in each division. Divisions are made up of Rifle, Night Vision Rifle, Dog & Knife, and Bow. We will also have bonus prizes for largest stringer and longest tusk.

Awards - Want to win some serious cash? We will be giving out $28K in cash prizes to the winners of the hog hunt, and $7,800 for our BBQ Cook-Off winners!

Products - For sponsorship or registration questions, please contact Lauren Morgan at (361) 446-1185 or Email lauren.morgan@twcable.com
