Postby mudslinger » 10:04 pm Oct 19 2010

Finally after many years, long story but over 4, I have my Red Stag I shot in New Zealand in April of 2006 mounted and in the trophy room. Enjoy. Scores about 320" if you are interested.

Creat*** Cri***** out south of Wolfforth on Woodrow Road. Traded a Redwood Arbor for this mount and a Mountain lion rug for a friend and there was no rush as the arbor was done and no money was going to exchange hands when the mounts were done so it took a while. i did not put any pressure on them, but finally told them before I left for Africa 30 days or they had to pay for the arbor. Over 4 years is way too long to wait. they did loose a lot of business from me and a few others over this, but they may not care.

Sorry to hear this mudslinger I did't take it as a slam and yes he is one of the best that I know. He did a black buck for me back in 2000. I don't think anyone on this forum knows this taxidermist but me & it's been over 10 years that I've talked to them. I hope this all works out for ya. If I can help out w/ this please let me know. Kevin

I want to clear up a misconception about the taxidermist I used to mount my Red Stag. Evidentely someone has told the owner that I had bad mouthed him on a web site. I have only posted this on 2 sites so it has to be one or the other. I never meant for this to be slam against the taxidermist or his work. I was just stating true facts on the time element involved in getting this stag mounted and some of the circumstances surrounding these facts. I still love the mount, it is a great mount, and believe that this particular taxidermist is one of the best if not the best in his business and I would still be using him without any questions "IF" I had gotten my stag back in a reasonable amount of time. I apologize if my words were taken wrong as this was not meant to be that way. I am not sure if I can repair the damage that has been done as the intent of the posts I made were true and accurate, but in no way meant to demean or hurt anyone or their business. I will definitley watch my words carefully in the future or just eliminate the possibility of my words being misconstrued by not posting any in the future. I am truly sorry.

I don't personally know him but he does in fact do some good work.
I've heard the same thing about time lines though.
Reguardless, if I ever kill something worthy, money permitting, he'll be doing it.
