Spencer Land, the former owner and the one responsible for HCA when he slpit from Alpine files Ch 11 bankruptcy last year. The reorganization evolved into Spencer selling the company's assets to his son, Nathan and a group of investors, Hunter's Heritage Group. Spencer basically let the business get run into the ground and he burned a lot of bridges in doing so. Nathan and the investors have been trying to build HCA back up a piece at a time, not all at once. HCA has never really had any problems with the bows they build, solid and fast, it was just that they let the customer and dealer service fall apart. I have talked to Nathan several times since this has happened along with other people that have had trouble with HCA warranty service and such and to a man most have said they are impressed with what Nathan is doing. They are moving the factory to another location and trying to build up HCA basically from the ground up. you can do a lot of searches on most web sites and you very seldom find much bad news about HCA, except for the customer and warranty service. it will be a long hard raod to rebuild the company, but I think that Nathan and his partners are on the right track. l I shoot an 09 Speed Pro and absolutely love it. it is fast (314 fps @ 29" draw 70# with a 410 arrow), quiet and no hand shock. the new HCA X10 Speed Pro is even better according to the people that have one. they are trying to rebuild a little at a time and that is the reason for the lack of advertising and such, but if everything goes according to what I have seen, they should be back in late 2010 and 2011 with a vengance.
