james, first off thank you for your service.
Welcome aboard.
It's a pretty good drive ( 4 hours), but keep in touch, when you get back and settled in, I've got a few deer stands and I'll make sure the feeders are full.
No real monsters, but plenty good table fair with hogs and deer.
I'd be honored for you to come spend the weekend. flag.gif

Welcome to the LSHF sir. You're more than welcome to hunt my place in Garza county. I have a doe tag that has your name on it if you want it. Like slim said it's a 4 + hour drive to west Texas but would be honored to have you out.

Are you a Bow hunter? I see the Bow hunting smiley in your post.

A BIG thank you to all y'all for every thing you do to keep us safe cup.gif

Welcome, I am about 2 hours east of Fort Hood. I don't have a lot of land, but would love to give you an opportunity to get a deer or hog.

I am sure you have more deer. I don't see deer every day that is for certain. Now I can probably get him a hog easier than a deer. Especially in my county, we only have certain days we can shoot does, and the bucks have to be at least 13 inches inside spread. So even though I see deer most of them I see can't be shot.

I saw three does and one hog while I was at his place the other day! He is doing something right on his land and it really shows.

Thanks John. The only problem is the does seem to know when the doe days are. I have only managed to kill one doe in the 3 years I have been there, my boys got each a one during the youth season. But the only legal one I got a chance at was during archery.

I did 5 years in the Army as a apache mechanic, and any veteran has a special place in my heart. I spent 2 years in Fort Hood, in 2nd armor division. Let me know when you can make a hog hunt, and I will do my best to get you one. I don't have a big house, but I have a couch, recliners, and a air mattress that you are welcome to.

Just let me know and I will pm you my cell phone number. I work 7 days on in Louisiana, and 7 days off so anytime when I am off is great.

Heck you are welcome to bring the wife along if you want. My wife would not mind at all. We got a hot tub the women can relax in while we try to get you a hog.

Looking forward to having you over. Bow hunting may be a little hard on my place, but most days with a rifle you can get one. As long as texaslefty stays away J/K. I think the hogs can sense him or something.

Sounds great, and remember the wife is welcome also. Just give me as much notice as you can so I can make sure I am not working.

Heck no need to even do that. If you feel like you need to I drink bud light, a sometimes crown and coke. I killed a bottle when texaslefty came over last week.
