Up here in the northeastern part of Coleman county, we used to have great populations of turkey. Now we see maybe 4 hens all season, might hear a tom or 2 but that's it. Down at the least by Lake Ivie there are soooooooo many. It's like what pigs are up here, the turkeys are down there. I can NOT WAIT until season so I can get one, never got a turkey before. Will have my camera handy of course for pics before the blast.

One of my favorite thing's to hunt. It's been a while since I have but the last 3 seasons in a row I did get to go, I limited out. Hopefully the population keeps growing for ya WstTxLady. Just got to keep the Fox and Coyot's population down.

We do keep the varmints in check but the fire ants are worse then anything else. We have noticed a decline in the rabbits, turkey & quail. Couple years ago when we first started to get fire ants real bad, I noticed that a majority of the cottontail nests wouldn't make it due to the fire ants getting the babies before they were old enough to get away.
