Postby Mike » 09:42 pm Apr 24 2009

Lindsey (my wife) and I are going pig hunting tomorrow as soon as I get up, which I hope will be around 2:00 pm. (For the new folks- I am a police officer and I work nights)

These two pigs have been regulars at the feeder and I hope they are still comming by.

Well we got down and checked everything out on Sat evening. We sat at the feeder for about two hours sat night and got tired so we went back to the cabbin. Sun morning we were at the feeder before sunrise hoping to get a turkey. We sat there until about 8:30 and did not hear or see any turkey. We felt that we were just out of luck for this trip so we decided to fill the feeders, check the cameras, and head out.

We fished up all but the last choar for the trip and went back to jls41's feeder. On the way back I peeked down at the feeder with the bino's and saw a pig at the feeder. We hopped off the 4wheeler and walked the rest of the way. We were about 100 yds away from the feeder the the pig started walking towards us. He walked around the right side of a clump of trees and I had a clear shot. One .270win shot later and he ran up into a thick clump of sand plum's and expired.

I have a video that Lindsey took of the stalk up to the feeder. I will have to figure out how to post it up on youtube and get a link.

Yes Cody I was at the city counsel meeting trying to get us a raise. We are over 60 officers short of our allotted numbers, and have over 100 officers eligible to retire. That is not a good outlook for us.
