First Hog of '08

Postby Mike » 10:01 am Jan 22 2008

My buddy and I went down to his ranch yesterday to check feeders and replace batteries in the game cameras. I wanted to take my new ATV out for its maiden voyage. We got all the work done and had some day light left so we went looking for a hog. We were able to find this sow with some babies in the road. The new ATV did real well. I was very impressed. We were able to carry lots of corn on it with no problems at all.

I just got finished stuffing some sausage made from this hog and deer meat from this year.

I used some sausage spice mixes from Gander Mtn and a recipe from the internet.

I hope it turns out good. I will update when I get it smoked.
