Well, my middle son Cole has been awaiting his first chance to kill a deer for last couple years and it finally came a couple days before his birthday(oct 31st) He is still a little small to shoot one with a bow like his big brother, but he did the next best thing, a crossbow. He likes to shoot the crossbow more than the youth 243 we have so we we're all set for the hunt a little over a week ago. We sat in the ground blind and had deer come in well before dark. No bucks but still Cole wanted to wait till last light to make sure one didn't come in. With about 10 mins left of shooting light, he finally said he would take this big doe that had been out in front of us for the past 20 or so mins. A little nervous, but making a good shot, he got his first deer ever.
