Thanks!! The day I killed him was a weekday, and nobody was at the lease except me. The stand I killed him out of is almost 3 miles from the camp. You should have seen me trying to load that dude up!!! I almost gave up and went to get some help, but finally got him loaded. That is my best buck to date, I killed one that was a little wider but still not as nice as this one. If you look on his neck in the second pic, that wound is not where I shot him. You can see the bullethole behind his shoulder. I'm guessing the place on his neck was from fighting, it was still fresh. Also, one of his nostrils was ripped open and that was fresh as well. I guess maybe there is at least one on our place bigger than him, looks like he got whooped!!

No there is a guy here local that does European mounts as a side job. He charges $100 and does great work. I got him to do it for me. I wanted to get it mounted but didn't have the $$$ at the time. I've been told that I can kill another deer and keep the cape, and take it to a taxidermist and they can mount it. Anyone know if that is right? If it's possible I'm going to get it done after this season.

I am not a taxidermist but I think you can take the skull capp and a cape and the taxidermist can make a mount from that.

I know of a really good taxidermist that does euro mounts only he is cheap super fast and good
