Another hog down 10-23-08 (graphic)

Postby helomech » 08:04 pm Oct 26 2008

Just got done cleaning it, at least 2 came out and I shot this one because I thought it was the one knocking my feeders over. But this was a sow. Anyway she fell, but by the time I got dressed and went down there she was gone. Blood trail was easy to follow, and she was dead about 20 yards away. It was not fun going through the thick brush looking for a hog, the brush is so thick I could only see about 5 feet in front of me. Here are the pics. 200 yards with a .30-06 shooting 150 gr hornady light mag SST's, at night.

Thanks.

No we had just got out the hot tub and walked in the house. I looked out the window and the motion light was on. So I ran back outside where I left my gun, and shot it.

Yes sir. But I haven't seen any since that night. I know they will be back, it shouldn't take to long.

I got a new solar motion light coming in today, can't wait to see if it works better than the one I have now.

I know you can't have a gun w/ you in bow season but I think after this last weekend I will have my 9mm @ all times.
You know how you can knee jerk a dog and he will do the same thing. Well I did that to 2 big suckers 4 or 5 times befor thay ran off. bolt.gif

That is such a stupid law, no gun during bow season. But you can have a gun with you the rest of the year. Just like the youth weekend. I can hunt hogs by myself that weekend with a rifle, but if I bring my son I can't have a rifle. That makes no sense.

Nice looking pig.

I bought that same scale this weekend, but did not get a chance to use it. (I sat at at the feeder all night Saturday and did not see any hogs) Have you had any problems with it?

No problems, and I have used it many many times. My youngest boy dropped it, and that is why the lens is cracked. It is still accurate, I hung on it to check.
