Alberta bear hunt

Postby GRM » 05:57 pm Apr 29 2009

I am so pumped. I have been waiting for 7 months and now it's 14 more days until myself and two of my best friends go on an Alberta bear hunt. A first bear hunt for all three of us. We get two black bear tags and a wolf tag. Got me a new Ross bow and am grouping well at 20 and 30 yds. Wish me luck and I'll have a bunch of picture and I'm going to try filming my hunts.

I built this tower blind a couple of weeks ago to simulate the stands we'll be hunting out of. It's tied to the tree and is hell on windy days and believe me we've had some dam windy days here. No I didn't get up there when it was blowing 60mph although my wife says that would be good practice for my nerves when a bear comes in.

Got a bear target to tear up.

Bear target at 25 yds and with 5 arrows I'm grouping the size of a tennis ball. Pretty good for me. I've broke a number of nocks shooting that close together.

Round bail with target at 16yds.

The first step is a d oozy......
