A few catfish

Postby twice70 » 08:01 pm Apr 17 2011

Went to the deer lease and spent the night Friday night. I wanted to call some varmint, but it was so windy I didn't bother. Found a group of pigs on our pipeline, tried to sneak up close enough for a shot, but the wind was wrong and they went back in the woods. This morning I went to a friend's place and caught these catfish out of his pond.

Got them cleaned and went back to the lease to check my hog traps. Nothing in the traps, but the same group of hogs was on the pipeline. The wind was right, and I was able to get withing about 150 yards of them. I shot a good sized one, knocked it down, and then it got up and ran before I could put another round in it. Looked for about an hour, never found the pig, no blood, nothing. So that was kind of a bummer, but all in all a great weekend!!
